I redeem myself with the only “partially lopsided” cake #2
Whew! Morgan’s birthday was a success.
Jeremy and I stuck fast to our “one present policy” for his first birthday and suprised little man with a Noah’s Ark with singing voices and lots of cool sounds before breakfast this morning. He loved making the music play OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER….
We had blueberry pancakes–his favorite–and then I played with him while daddy grocery shopped and not 1…but TWO cleaning ladies tidied up the house before his party. Thank you!!
I have never felt so spoiled–slash–embarassed in all of my life. I promise that I had no idea where all of the dust came from and just cringed when they cleaned behind and under the furniture. YES, it had been a while….
For the party, Jeremy and I prepared Thai chicken satay skewers, coconut rice, and Thai Angel Hair slaw to go with birthday cake number 2. If you wonder why it’s birthday cake # 2, please see previous post. Birthday cake number 1 caught on fire and had a hole in the center.
We had fire works, chocolate, and cranberry bubbles! It was a feast that culminated in Morgan showering off the chocolate cake with the hose by the pool and bidding his fellow partygoers a fond farewell with a tummy full of sweets and bleary eyes at 7:30 pm. Then, mommy and daddy got to chat and relax with friends for a few hours.
Happy Birthday, sweet boy. We love you!
